Chess Rehearsal ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address
• Password (stored securely as a hash — we never see your actual password)

Usage data

As you use the app, we store:

• Puzzle solving history and performance statistics
• Spaced repetition review schedules
• Streak records and progress
• Game history and analysis data

This data is tied to your account so you can access it across devices and sessions.

How we use your information

Your data is used solely to provide and improve the Chess Rehearsal experience:

• Authenticating your account
• Storing and syncing your progress
• Calculating spaced repetition schedules
• Displaying your statistics and streak data

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the app.

Data storage & security

Your data is stored using Supabase, a cloud database platform built on PostgreSQL. Supabase provides:

• Encrypted data in transit (TLS) and at rest
• Row-level security policies ensuring users can only access their own data
• Infrastructure hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS)

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

Third-party services

Chess Rehearsal uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase — authentication and database (Supabase Privacy Policy)
• Apple — app distribution via the App Store (Apple Privacy Policy)

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties.

Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data at any time through the app
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Export your data by contacting us

To delete your account, go to Settings → Delete Account within the app, or follow the instructions on our Delete Account page.

Children's privacy

Chess Rehearsal is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
