This page explains how to request deletion of your Chess Rehearsal account and the data associated with it.
Option 1 — Delete from inside the app
The fastest way to delete your account is directly from the app:
- Open the Chess Rehearsal app on your device
- Sign in to the account you want to delete
- Open Settings
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm the deletion when prompted
Your account and all associated data will be removed, and the action cannot be undone.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you no longer have access to the app or prefer to make the request manually, send us an email:
Email: chessrehearsalapp@gmail.com
Subject: Account deletion request
Send from: the email address linked to your Chess Rehearsal account (so we can verify it belongs to you)
Once we receive and verify your request, we will permanently delete your account and all associated data within 30 days, and reply to confirm once it's done.
What data is deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed from our servers:
- Your account record (email address and password hash)
- Puzzle solving history and performance statistics
- Spaced repetition review schedules
- Streak records and progress
- Game history and analysis data
- Any other data tied to your account
What data is kept
We may retain a limited amount of information after account deletion when required:
- Backups — residual copies in encrypted database backups are purged on the normal backup rotation, within 30 days of deletion
- Legal & security records — minimal records (such as deletion request logs) may be retained where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or prevent abuse
None of this retained data is used for any other purpose, and it is not linked back to a usable account.
